The podcast project

The Podcast project will be our second project. This is pretty interesting one. The powerful software Aduacity is very helpful in this project. We could record a podcast and also we could add the background music.

I have made a handout for you and we could know the basic tools of Aduacity.

Hello, everyone. I am pretty glad to be your friend and be your helper this semester. I took this CSW class this summer; it was full of fun. I love it so much. In the end, we have our whole class webzine published online, is that awesome?

This class need a lot of research; so during this time, we could learn more and we could get more.

This semester we will have fun together.

End-of-Assignment "Reflection" Blog

The topic of all my project is about Chinese Culture.
With the coming of 2008 Beijing Olympic Games, more and more people in US and other countries want to know deeper about China. I hope I could help to do something, so this topic came into my mind. I introduced four main parts in Chinese culture. In the first wetbtext I talked about Chinese food. I think it should be interesting as a beginning for all my projects because great food is all humen's favor. Then in my podcast project I chose to talk about the Chinese festivals. In order to make audiences would like to focus on my podcast for five minutes, I decided to tell some legends behind some famous festivals instead of just introducing some basic information. This is a good try I think after the responses from others. The final Multi modal project I combined all the things together. I added two new parts: one is Beijing Olympic games' information, the other is about traditional Chinese arts. For giving a complete format and feeling, I changed some background and unnecessary information, added more links; In this way, I made them all together in the final webtext.

Although I used much extra time to change organizations and format, I really enjoyed this process. In the end I could have a very complete webtext and I could make audiences more convenient to enjoy my webtext. These are the points.

My project is very worth to read because of its interesting content and fully organised format. I think it is very easy for readers to go through. I designed it for a long time. The content will help readers to know about Chinese culture also related to the Beijing Olympic games. Every nation has its unique culture, so we all have a desire to explore the colorful and interesting culture of other country; this is the reason why I think readers would like to see my project. In order to make it more personal, I added many personal experiences. I love my culture, so I could introduce it to readers. My experiences added more credibilities in my MMwebtext.

Another thing I must mention is that I learned a lot technology skills in this class; they are pretty needed. The online articles seems more and more popular. They are convenient and easy to reach for readers. Learing these computer skills is more practical for us to improve our abilities. Dream waver is a very powerful and convenient software. We need to explore it more in the future.
I also learn how to use some templates, and they look very professional; so it is a pretty food way to design our MMwebtext. I will try it sometime.

My MMwebtext done

After such a long time, it is the time for MMwebtext to finish which means the time for our webzine to begin. We had a very great summer; we improved writing skills, technology skills and made many friends. Our great webzine is on the way. which our fruit in these two months. Although we had very limited time to do so many projects, we really took efforts to make them better and better.

A tired weekend

This was such a tired weekend. I went to take part in a sand volleyball competition in Chicago beach, which is for celebrating the Olympic Games. Our team was called PUC.

I am not professional at all. Finding me, I guess the reason is because there is few students left during summer. At 7:00 in the morning we departures in front of the doorway of Gym. It has been such a long time for me to not get up so early. When we got there, several team members were waiting there. They were really cool and professional. OK, never mind, just for fun.

This was a long day and we had five competition at least. We lost most of them, but we did win one of them, hehe. When I came back, it had been 9:00 in the evening.

So come on this new week for our final webzine.

It is time for the final part

WOW, such a quick semester
It is the time for the final project. How time flies.
Today we will have our final part proposal, after that we will begin our final webtext.
I am hoping to see our final webzine; it will be full of knowledge and interesting stuff.

Everyone did a good job in the first webtext and second podcast, so we will continue our success.
I will continue to talk about Chinese culture things in my final multi model webtext. I will focus on the Chinese Calligraphy and Painting arts, also Peking Opera.

The attraction in the last project is The Beijing Olympic Games. What is our unique and what will make us unique. Olympic will be a stage for China to present what are we looking like now.

My podcast done

I have to say, I'm not that hardworking. I finished this

assignment so early because I thought on Thursday it should be

due. So on Wednesday night I recorded my podcast and

finished the script in such a harry. However, it is not. The

deadline is next Tuesday, so I should have had more days to finish it. WOW

Never mind, becase I will have a more free weekend. That's good.

Hello, again and again

After listening some sample podcast from NPR, I do want to make some changes in my podcast.

First I think I need to make listeners focus on my topic for 5 minus long. I should not talk about some boring things. What I need is to add more fun stuff. so I decide to change my concentration from teach us about Chinese festival information to tell us about the background stories. I mean, some of them maybe hear of some special festivals of us, but very few of you know where are these things from in the history. Actually, it is full of fun.

So I hope this change will work.

My proposal for my projects

Hello, everyone
I really enjoy all the works of you in the webtext one; they are awesome.
At first tried to cover every details about Chinese culture in my webtext one; however I found it impossible after listening to the suggestions from Dr. Mikey Mitol and Yela. So I changed my mind. I will divide them into all my projects including webtext one, two and the podcast.

In the webtext one, I mainly talked about the Chinese food
In the podcast, I will cover the traditional festivals in China and maybe also conclude some information about our 56 ethnic nations, but not that much.
In the wentext two, because it also has a podcast assignment, I want to talk about the Chinese art: performing arts (Peking opera), painting, calligraphy and Gongfu.

It is just a plan. I hope you could give me some more suggestions.

My Topic----Chinese Culture---You will like it

Do you want to know more about a 5000 history country? Do you want to know more about how people live in several hundred years ago? Follow me, I will give you a new world---Chinese Culture.

I chose this topic because I like it and I know you like it--- that's it. In my website, I will, probably include Chinese traditional Peking Opera, Chinese Painting and writing as I show above, delicious Chinese food(I will add some simple recipes and you could cook some Chinese food at home), Chinese Gongfu (I will tell you how to fly and how to go into the ground---HAHA---just kidding--- how can I know it? but I will tell you some basic gestures to threaten bad guys, I hope it works), Chinese traditional music(We have our own music instruments and I will show you most of them, with their sounds), our unique clothing(very pretty and maybe you will have chances to try them in the future), our festivals(various festivals every year in our daily life and some of these festivals have their special food to represent it, and I will show you.), and our history.

I try to pick up the most important ones to try you. And you will have a full understanding of Chinese culture and custom.

My days in US

Hello, everyone. My name is YUNZHU ZHANG. You could just call me Yunzhu. I have been here for 10 months. Although sometimes I miss my families so much, so many friends around me make me feel much much better.

After I came here, I learned a lot from school, books and also life. Now I am a good cook which is hard to imagine if I was with my parents. I learn how to make decisions all by myself. I help my friends when they met difficulties and also when I did. We had a lot of activities every day, especially when I was in the English Language Program. We went to Chicago, having a boat tour, visiting the tower and eating in the famous restaurants, to name a few. We also took part in the volleyball competition; although we did not get any rewards, we really had fun.

I had a performance in Chinese Spring Festival Performance singing the traditional Chinese Peking Opera. Maybe some of you attended to this performance at the beginning of this spring semester.

I took the English 396 call class when I just came here to study the English Language program in advanced level. This class is very useful and make me more familiar with computer skills. And after today's class, I found English 396 has a big relation with English 105 CSW. I chose the English 105 right after I got an A in my English 100 because I want to improve my English skills quickly. Now because of this computer based English 105, I think I will also improve my computer skills. That's great. English is the biggest thing for us to study abroad. If we do not know what my teacher is saying, how could I study it well?

I believe I will have fun in English 105 with all of you. Hope us have a great summer class.
